The portfolio review will only accept eight photographers, who will meet with a panel comprised of the Southlight Salon Members and Arts Company owner, Anne Brown. Each attendee will be assigned five one-on-one 20-minute reviews with members of our esteemed panel of photography professionals.

After the formal review process, each attendee will have the opportunity to exhibit their portfolio at The Arts Company that evening to the crowds attending the Nashville Art Crawl.

This is a juried event. There will be a fee of $100 to the eight accepted photographers. Application and submission is free.

A Film A Poem A Photo

Art inspires Art. You see it all the time in movies inspired by books, in dances choreographed for musicals and in photographs created from live performances. Robert McCurley of Southlight Salon challenged two experienced and very talented Nashville poets, as well as himself, to create original poetry inspired by his photographs in the Southern Light exhibit.

Poets Randy Foster and Amy E. Hall will join Robert in creating a live listening experience guaranteed to provide a unique perspective on one of the most revered historical events of the American South.

Come, listen and be transported to unexpected places in the minds of soldiers and Presidents and discover what lurks in the shadows of battlefields lost long ago to progress and commerce. This will truly be a one-time performance you will not want to miss.

This integration of art forms continues with Southlight Salon’s Art Film Matinee. Presented by the Arts Company and sponsored by the Nashville Film Festival.

One has to believe that sometimes the problem with attending an art film screening is due to simply not knowing which ones are worth seeing. Very careful considerations have been made to assure that this movie is one that shouldn’t be missed.

Admission is free.

Saturday February 18th –  (6:00-8:30 p.m.)
