Mark Mosrie

Mark is photographer and filmmaker based in Nashville. He is a graduate of Brooks Institute of Photography and also holds a BA in Drama from Duke University.

Mark has held many jobs in the creative arts. He was a lighting and set designer for plays and operas, a photo assistant for Annie Leibovitz, he taught photography on a ship while completing a 105-day sea voyage around the world and he’s worked on documentary films in Colombia and Vietnam and long-term photo projects in India and Cuba.

He has had the pleasure to produce photography and video for a wide variety of corporate clients, including The Grand Ole Opry, Tractor Supply Company, Mastercraft Boats, Covenant Physician Partners, HCA and Wellstar Health System, along with countless independent productions and personal projects. His short films have won awards at the local and international levels.

In 2024 his production company, Penumbra Entertainment, will release its first feature-length film, The Legend of Lake Hollow.

A Spanish speaker, Mark enjoys movies, watching baseball games with his wife Erica, and learning about new cultures, new music and new foods. You can see his photography and video work at www.mosriephotography.com.

MOST MEMORABLE SOUTHLIGHT MOMENT
My first Southlight meeting as an official member. I had brought some photos to that meeting that I was pretty proud of. But after seeing what the others had brought and hearing the comments about their work, I quickly realized that what I had was far inferior. After the meeting, I remarked to someone, "Damn. I need to up my game if I want to be part of this crew..."
