In January and February of 2012, Southlight, with the help of The Arts Company, produced and hosted seven weeks of photographic activities in Nashville. Events ranged from a 2-month gallery exhibition, to panel discussions with collectors, to an evening with Sylvia Plachy, to a street photography workshop to portfolio reviews. The gallery exhibition was called "Southern Light". Each Southlight member chose an aspect of Southern culture and produced a portfolio of images. The subject matter ranged from New Orleans house facades to hipsters and big hair.
