Southlight's group projects are long-term undertakings that provide an opportunity for members to explore and experiment with photographic styles, techniques and subject matter that might be outside of their usual ways of working. The themes of these projects tend to be multi-faceted, allowing time for each photographer to do some research and — if desired — carefully plan out their photos. In completing these group projects, the process is frequently as important as the final images, the idea being for the photographer to challenge himself to produce work that he normally might not produce.
